Dehradun to Badrinath Taxi Service
A 320 km yatra drive up the full Alaknanda valley to Badrinath Dham — motorable all the way, with planned halts and drivers who know every prayag.

Dehradun to Badrinath Taxi — Route Summary
The Dehradun–Badrinath road runs about 320 kilometres up the Alaknanda valley via Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandprayag and Joshimath. At roughly 10 hours of driving, it is the longest single yatra route we operate — and unlike Kedarnath, the motorable road reaches Badrinath town itself, so there is no trek involved.
Our taxis run this corridor through the yatra season with night halts built into every plan. Your driver manages the long ghat day, the halt hotel town, and temple-day parking — you manage darshan and rest.
Distance and Travel Time
Distance: 320 km from Dehradun to Badrinath. Travel time: approximately 10 hours of driving, excluding halts — realistically a two-day road plan with one night halt.
The honest math: nobody should drive Dehradun–Badrinath non-stop in one day and enjoy the temple the next morning. We plan Day 1 to Joshimath or Pipalkoti (night halt with hotel); Day 2 the final climb with darshan the same evening or next morning.
Road Journey Information
This is the Panch Prayag route — Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag and Nandprayag (with Vishnuprayag just past Joshimath), where Himalayan rivers meet the Alaknanda one by one. Drivers who know the confluence halts turn a long drive into a moving darshan.
The final stretch past Joshimath climbs steadily to Badrinath town, where buses, cars and tempos all park in the designated lots above the temple. From parking it is a short walk down to Tapt Kund and the temple entrance — manageable for seniors at a slow pace.
One Way Taxi to Badrinath
Dehradun pickup to Badrinath town with the recommended night halt en route. Fixed one-way yatra fare for the full 320 km — ideal when your return is by a different plan or a later date.
Return Taxi Options
Most yatris book the return together: the same car waits through your Badrinath days (Mana Village and Tapt Kund excursions included) and drives you back to Dehradun. Confirm temple days while quoting so waiting is priced fairly.
Dehradun Pickup Options
We collect from anywhere in Dehradun — Rajpur Road and Old Mussoorie Road hotels, ISBT and railway station, Clement Town, Prem Nagar, Ballupur–GMS Road, and Jolly Grant Airport for fly-in yatris starting the circuit directly.
Badrinath departures leave very early (4 AM is normal) because Day 1 must reach the halt town before dark. Your driver confirms the exact time the evening before.

Badrinath Yatra Planning
Pack warm layers regardless of month — Badrinath sits above 3,100 metres and evenings bite even in peak season. Carry one small bag for temple days; main luggage stays locked in the car.
Build buffer days for weather holds on the Joshimath–Badrinath stretch and for a relaxed Mana Village morning (Bheem Pul, Vyas Gufa, Saraswati river confluence). For registration and current-season procedures, rules change yearly — ask us while quoting and we will point you to the current official process.
Travel and Route Information
Key en-route points: Devprayag confluence (15-minute halt), Srinagar (supplies, ATMs, lunch), Rudraprayag (junction town), Karnaprayag and Nandprayag (valley views), Pipalkoti or Joshimath (night halt), then the final climb past Vishnuprayag to Badrinath.
At Badrinath, plan Tapt Kund queues into your darshan morning, keep an afternoon for Mana Village (3 km), and note that the Narsingh Temple at Joshimath is the winter seat — worth a halt-visit on the way up or down.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a trek to reach Badrinath Temple?
No. Unlike Kedarnath, motorable road reaches Badrinath town directly — cars and tempos park above the temple and it is a short walk down to Tapt Kund and the entrance. No trekking is involved.
How many days does a Dehradun–Badrinath road trip need?
Minimum 2 days for the road portion (one night halt at Joshimath or Pipalkoti), plus temple days. A realistic full plan is 4–5 days door to door.
Which vehicle is best for Badrinath Yatra?
Innova or Ertiga for families on 320 km of ghats, Dzire for couples, Tempo Traveller for groups of 9+. Ground clearance and boot space matter more here than on plains routes.
Can Badrinath and Kedarnath be combined?
Yes — it is the classic Do Dham circuit. Note the difference: Badrinath is direct road access, Kedarnath needs the Gaurikund roadhead plus trek/helicopter. We plan both legs in one quote.
What is there to see around Badrinath besides the temple?
Mana Village (last village, Bheem Pul, Vyas Gufa), Tapt Kund hot springs, and the Narsingh Temple at Joshimath en route. Keep half a day free for Mana.
Is the route safe during monsoon?
The yatra runs in a fixed season with maintained roads, but the Joshimath–Badrinath stretch can close in active monsoon. We track closures daily in season and keep buffer days in your plan.
